Detailed information on Glass Blown Hollow Filigrana Bead Necklaces, Signature series 5 Bead

Ancient glass blowing making techniques that were invented in Murano Italy by glass masters Filippo and Bernardo Catani in 1526 are used in the process. This elaborate pattern making technique was and still is difficult to perform. Filigree Glass, unlike conventional blown glass, was suitable for only the uppermost tables of society as it was not common.

Virginia selects the glass rods very carefully to match in size, twist and pattern. The rods go on a fire proof plate and arranged to display a distinct pattern. Then fused and picked up on the glassblowing pipe, formed and blown into the desired shape and size. This creates a uniquely formed pattern throughout the blown hollow glass bead.

Five handblown 1 inch diameter glass blown hollow filigrana beads necklaces are featured in my Designer Line Handblown Hollow Filigrana Glass Bead Necklaces. Gorgeous blown beads are combined with .925 sterling silver, semi-precious stones and my beautiful cane glass beads. These necklaces truly make a statement and are very rare as it is difficult to create a set of so many well matched focal beads. The necklaces are finished off with a delightful Leaf toggle or large spring ring and are signed with my VWT signature bead hanging from a decorative sterling chain off the clasp or strung beside the beads.
