The story of Danish Modern begins in 1908 when Carl Hansen opened his first workshop. The Cubist-inspired chair, designed in 1959 by Danish architect Bodil Kjær, features a fine, linear appearance despite its sturdy construction. The chair was created as part of a series of architecturally inspired indoor-outdoor furniture, the proportions of which were designed to relate to the surrounding environment. Featuring a comfortable inclined seat and back, with armrests, legs and runners that are mortised together to form two squares – a detail that is realized through expert craftsmanship. Durable enough to live outdoors and beautiful enough to be used inside, the BK11 is executed in solid untreated FSC-certified teak that will develop a beautiful patina over time.

Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of untreated or oiled teak. Optional cushions made from weather-resistant Sunbrella fabric for additional comfort are available separately.
