This beautiful vintage Ersari Turkmen rug, handwoven in wool and characterised by a compact format filled with rows of stylised octagonal guls, is a defining feature of Ersari tribal weaving. The field displays a warm, earthy palette of madder red, soft brown, and deep indigo, with natural abrash that adds depth and visual movement. The guls are interspersed with small geometric motifs, while a bold, rhythmically patterned red and dark-toned border frames the composition. The low pile, softened drawing, and signs of age reflect authentic nomadic craftsmanship, giving the rug a strong yet understated tribal presence.
