HOT ! Vintage 1920s Clutch Purse Art Deco Metallic & Silk Embroidery Pocketbook

This is a fabulous 1920s era clutch or pocketbook purse featuring silk and metallic embroidery front and back.  The design is rendered in the art deco style - somewhat abstract, but I see flowers and even birds at the centre.  The work is in a metallic gold thread that has taken on a dark patina, with the reddish colour being a mix of the metallic gold and red silk - the centre of the oval shapes is in white silk.  The embroidery is on a black silk base.  The purse closes with a front panel that folds over to snap onto the interior front panel.  That front panel is in black moiré silk while the rest of the interior is in a fleshtone colour - there are three interior pockets.  There had been an oval label or something else on the interior, but all that is remaining is some evidence of stitching having been there. The purse, closed, measures 5 7/8” in height and 9 1/4” in width - it can expand to a depth of 1 1/2” at the bottom.  It is in very good condition, clean with no signs of wear or tear, except for a tiny bit of edge wear at the back right corner, quite minor.  This is an exceptional piece - wonderful art deco design!
