HOT ! Pair of Late 18th-Century Antique Fruitwood Benches of Elongated Form

A pair of late 18th-Century elongated benches constructed from fruitwood.

They are ideal for the kitchen, boot room or hallway and they would suit both a traditional or contemporary home interior.

Most probably French origin.

Each with a long rectangular single-plank top, supported by splayed legs and stretchers. The legs are secured to the top via mortice and tenon joints and wedges.

Provenance - Acquired from a private property in Norwich, Norfolk.  

Condition -.Please refer to the images. There are some signs of minor historic woodworm, but this is inactive and has been treated too as a precautionary measure. There are general marks and wear. Some additional wooden blocks have been added to one of the pairs of legs where they meet the underside of the plank seat to provide additional strength to the structure.
