Curator\'s Notes 

I’ve always loved the feeling of drinking from a wooden vessel, especially when they are impeccably crafted. The wide cups are carved to approximately a 2mm wall thickness, so they naturally have a delicate dimension and feel lightweight. Perfect for a little injection of nature in your life! 

Kami is a series of wooden drinking vessels and tableware made by master woodworker Takahashi Kougei from Hokkaido, Japan. Each of the pieces in the collection is handcrafted from Sen (castor aralia) trees using highly sophisticated woodturning techniques passed down for generations. The name Kami, means “paper” in Japanese in reference to the thin wall thickness and white tone of the wood.
